Rooibos goes by numerous names, including Redbush Tea, Bush Tea and Red Tea. In its unflavoured form, there are two primary varieties:

Red, which has undergone oxidation, and Green Rooibos, which retains its natural structure. The indigenous Khoisan people held it in high regard due to its health benefits for several centuries. However, it wasn’t until the 1960s that its popularity became widespread. 

A South African mother named Annique Theron, whose child suffered from colic caused by allergies, decided to blend her milk with Rooibos. Her 14-month-old daughter’s symptoms dissipated, prompting Theron to believe, rightly, that she’d made an amazing discovery.

How to Brew Rooibos Blood Orange Tea

1. Purchase a Tea Filter or Infuser for ease and convenience.
2. Add about five grams of the Tea to the accessory.
3. Boil water to 100°C and pour it over the leaves.
4. Allow it to steep for 5 to 10 minutes. 

How to Serve: Consider honey or lemon. Alternatively, serve without accompaniments.
