The Story of Espresso Kentish Roast Coffee<\/h3>\n

The story of our Espresso Kentish Roast starts in Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee over 1000 years ago. Famous for its Arabica beans, Ethiopia\u2019s coffee is part of its culture and identity.<\/p>\n

And we source premium Indian Mysore Coffees which have gained worldwide recognition for their quality and flavour. India\u2019s coffee industry is growing fast and we get exquisite beans from the Mysore region to add to our blend.<\/p>\n

Together, these origins make for a coffee with history, tradition and innovation.<\/p>\n

Brewing Tips and Guides<\/h3>\n

Cafetiere (French Press)<\/h4>\n
    \n
  1. Measure and Grind: Use coarse ground coffee<\/a> for best results. Measure one tablespoon of coffee for every 4 oz of water, adjust to taste.<\/li>\n
  2. Heat the Water: Heat the water to around 200\u00b0F (just below boiling).<\/li>\n
  3. Add Coffee and Water: Add the coffee grounds to the cafetiere, then pour the hot water over them, making sure all grounds are covered.<\/li>\n
  4. Steep and Stir: Steep for about 4 minutes. Stir gently.<\/li>\n
  5. Press and Serve: Slowly press the plunger down to separate the grounds from the coffee. Pour into your cup.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Espresso Machine<\/h4>\n
      \n
    1. Prepare the Coffee: Use fine ground coffee, tamp it in firmly but not too hard into the portafilter.<\/li>\n
    2. Set up the Machine: Make sure the espresso machine is preheated, components are clean and there\u2019s enough water in the reservoir.<\/li>\n
    3. Brew the Espresso: Lock the portafilter into the group head. Start the brew and aim for 25-30 seconds for a good shot of espresso.<\/li>\n
    4. Serve or Customise: Drink straight or use as a base for cappuccinos, lattes or macchiatos.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Drip Coffee Maker<\/h4>\n

      1. Prepare: Use medium ground coffee and one to two tablespoons per 6 oz of water, to taste.<\/li>\n
      2. Set up: Put a clean paper filter in the drip coffee maker (if required). Add the right amount of coffee grounds to the filter basket.<\/li>\n
      3. Add Water: Fill the reservoir with fresh cold water to the number of servings you want.<\/li>\n
      4. Start: Turn on and brew.<\/li>\n
      5. Serve and enjoy: Once brewed, pour into your cup and enjoy.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        The Espresso Kentish Roast is a rich and indulgent blend that will seduce your senses. With every sip, you\u2019ll get a lovely balance of aromatic flavour, acidity and smooth velvety texture. Dark chocolate, caramel and hints of berries will dance on your palate and leave you with a long satisfying finish.<\/p>\n

        Caffeine Content<\/h3>\n

        The Espresso Kentish Roast Coffee is crafted to give you an energising yet balanced caffeine hit. A single shot of espresso (about 1 oz) from this blend will contain around 63mg of caffeine. However this can vary depending on the brewing method and the type of coffee drink<\/a> you make. A double shot will have around 126mg of caffeine.<\/p>\n

        When comparing brewing methods, traditional espresso brewing concentrates the caffeine more due to the small volume of the shot and the pressure extraction. Drip coffee made with this blend will have slightly less caffeine per oz, but more caffeine overall due to the larger serving size.<\/p>\n

        For speciality drinks like lattes, cappuccinos or macchiatos the caffeine content will depend on the number of espresso shots used in the recipe.<\/p>\n

        Knowing this will help you to tailor your coffee consumption to your needs and preferences, whether you want a quick strong hit or a gentle morning sip.<\/p>\n
